The little Ricoh
did good. Apart from a little levels tweak these images are pretty
much full frame originals. this is in part to deomonstrate my 'first
time right' capabilities but in reality its just lazyness.
This camera had a few little drawbacks though
that finally convinced me to upgrade to an SLR. Firstly its very
difficult to establish any kind of depth of field effects on point
and shoot cameras. Secondly, although this camera had a awesome
'wide zoom' lens it was not without some chromatic abberation and
distortion at the limits. Lastly - the metering was a little bizzare.
In the end I used this camera exclusivly in manual mode with the
live histogram showing (an excellent feature by the way that is
lacking on my new SLR!) and never with the flash!
